Last Day... :-(

The last day is always bitter sweet. We had a great day, but knowing we have to go back to the real world tomorrow is tough.

We decided to lay low today and hang out by the pool... to catch some last rays. We enjoyed the rest and relaxation after our morning work-out and coffee. Then this afternoon we went to Spouting Horn & Koloa town for some final shopping, then went on a drive where we hit some roads we had never been on before (didn't know there were any more!) :-)

Then we headed to Casa di Amici for dinner... was this a treat or what?! SUPER food and the selection on the menu was fabulous... this was by far the best meal we have had here and it was a great way to end things...

Waimea Canyon Hike

We went for a "challenging" hike in Waimea Canyon this morning. The hike was ~ 6 miles and coming back was all uphill... but worth it (that canyon is always so beautiful.) We worked up a good sweat, had a quick snack and headed back down.

We then checked into the Marriott Waiohai for our last 3 nights on Kauai...




 

Evening Out

Last night we spent some time at the shops @ Koloa and then we headed over to the Marriott for dinner (Dukes.) On the way we also had a GREAT shot of the moutain again; I keep taking pictures of it, as we have rarely seen it so clear in the past.

A Day at Sea...

What a wonderful day it was... Joe wanted to go on a NaPali snorkel cruise, so we signed up. I was very skeptical as my sea-sickness typically sets in within 20 minutes. But I did the Dramamine routine and made it through just fine.

We went on a 5 1/2 hour cruse and saw SO MANY dolphins... they said there were from 500-1000 dolphins in the pod. We also saw sea turtles and then there were the fish - wow... so many of them while snorkeling!

It was incredible and we are so glad we did this...

Kauai, beautiful Kauai

We made it to Kauai safe and sound; feels like home here. :-)

We got to "request" our Mustang color, so we picked red (finally another color other than white!) We stocked up at Wal-Mart when we arrived and headed to the condo. It's a great place, right past Poipu with a perfect view...

Today we went for a run and got a Starbucks... then spent the morning on the Sheraton beach (right next to Poipu) and caught some rays... Headed into Koloa town in a bit.




 

Off to Kauai...

We have had a wonderful time on Molokai... it's a wonderful island (quiet, but in a good way!) We will definitely be back here in the future!

We are flying to Kauai today, while Steve & Bonnie head back to Oregon... We will have 8 nights on our favorite island!

End of the road... We went down to the ranch "beach" where they serve a buffet for dinner - it was the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and ocean.



 

Molokai, Day 2

We drove to the end of all the Molokai roads today and stopped along the way... we discovered this island is really beautiful with some pristine beaches; the kind you see in movies with white sand and turquoise blue waters.

Transition to Molokai!

We left for the Maui airport EARLY this morning and caught a flight to Molokai... We hadn't been here before, so we weren't sure what to expect. But for those of you who haven't experienced this island - you need to try it.

This island is still very remote - the airport is a blast from the past (get off the plane, walk a few steps to the rental car station, and next, they bring your bags to a coned off area.) We drove to our hotel and were delighted... It's a "small luxury hotel" of the world and this is definitely the way to go. There is not much at all to do on this island (except of course, enjoy the remote feeling, beaches, mule rides, and diving/snorkeling) but this hotel creates its own activities, etc.. It's a huge ranch, straight out of an old western, but much, much nicer! We spent the morning/early afternoon by the infinity pool and then enjoyed dinner here and listened to the piano player tonight...

Later, Joe and I went and watched the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, just up the street (at what I am SURE is the only source of what we call "entertainment" on the island.)

So... we don't know what tomorrow brings - probably a drive to the beach and the cliffs (which we hear are spectacular.)
